This bridge connecting the residential neighbourhood of Beacon Hill to the Charles River Esplanade (ending right next to the Hatch music oval) is named in memory of long-time Boston Pops conductor, Arthur Fiedler.

This bridge connecting the residential neighbourhood of Beacon Hill to the Charles River Esplanade (ending right next to the Hatch music oval) is named in memory of long-time Boston Pops conductor, Arthur Fiedler.

The dedication was written by Charles Eliot, the then Harvard College president. The statue was dedicated in 1887.

The names of close to 50 composers line the Hatch Memorial Shell, in honour of the composers of pieces which have been performed by the Boston Pops Orchestra at this venue.
