End and continuity of the Golden Age

Although the Golden Age is considered to end with the 19th century, the influence of these great authors has extended internationally over the centuries and will probably continue to do so for many more years to come. The city of Moscow, where many of these writers resided for at least a period of their lives, is a clear testimony to the continued presence of these prominent figures, be it through the more visible statues and museums dedicated to authors from Pushkin to Chekhov, to the actual spots they used to frequent during their time, and that are now remembered and visited by their most avid admirers.

This Neatline exhibit collects some of these Moscow spots that have been keeping alive the presence of the protagonists of the Golden Age in the lives of Moscow residents and visitors.
