An Ideal Well Maintained
In hindsight, it would seem as though Russia failed overall to create the image of parity with western capitalist cities. Although they maintained a place in the pantheon of superpwers in the international sense with the aid of technology that propelled them into space and the atomic age, Russia is not internationally remembered for their architectural prowess. Instead, the attempt to recreate the skyscraper model of the West strained the budget of the Moscow government for some time. The availability of information in our digital age reveals the contemporary state of life for citizens of Moscow. With all this being said, it is important to note that the Seven Sisters indeed serve as the architectural foundation for the identity of the city and modern renovations to most sites indicate the yearning for progress (1). While they might not have individually solidified Russia’s status as a tier-one country, their erections have provided an aesthetic palate that states Russia’s ambition will constantly keep them in contention with the best of the world’s capitalist cities when it comes to geopolitical power and quality of life for its citizens.
